Central America turned out to be a very challenging part of the trip. Much of the terrain is hilly or mountainous. The climate was warm to very hot with a lot of humidity. Since there are not many roads to choose from, we had to make due with what was there. Our daily mileage turned out to be long, making the ride difficult, even for the best of riders.
Most people in Central America still take a siesta in the heat of the day. Not us Gringos, we hopped on our bikes and rode.
