March 17, 2000 We arrived safely from Cape Town, at the Athens, Greece airport. Since the plane had been delayed, we were several hours late. The customs folks in Athens gave the TK&A staff a difficult time with unloading the bicycles. They had been conveniently loaded onto pallets, but the Greeks wanted them unloaded onto the ground and then onto a little truck to take them to us. The truck would hold about 25 bikes and it took 25 minutes to do each "round". Larry and I didn't get our bicycles until 5 p.m. that night, therefore using up our entire "day off!" To follow the Southern Europe "leg" of our trip, click on Greece and work your way down the list. |
